According to the DOH, the coffee shop down the street has but middling cleanliness standards. And the greasy lunch joint near your office had double-digit points deducted during its latest inspection. So effin' what. Are you aware how friggin' tough it is to get an A? It's like eating off an operating table. Seriously, your home kitchen would probably flunk the DOH's stringent guidelines. Barf-o-rama. So (yes, that's three "so's" nearly in a row), this Tumblr is dedicated to those special eating establishments where their most recent DOH inspection qualifies them to wear the Caramel Letter. If it doesn't have roaches floating around the floor or mice nibbling your cheese, who seriously cares? If it doesn't give you a guttache, you're in the clear. Mind you, I've eaten mussels from Istanbul street vendors and drank some fermented mare's milk swill on a diplomatic mission ("champagne of Central Asia," my ass) to Karakalpakstan, so if it makes me yack, it's gotta be BAAAD.
